UNA CARGA DE LAVADO

"Una carga de lavado" (A load of washing) is a work that intervenes spatially on the terrace of the Spanish Cultural Center in Chile. The work appropriates the space through the concept of a clothe-line, from which white fabrics printed with photographic images of wet clothes hang. From this gesture, the work proposes an experimental way to understand photography, without limiting itself to the usages of conventional supports and highlighting the power of photography in the appropriation of the architectural space. It also proposes a reflection on the domestic environment, staging the routines and rituals that constitute it. Thus, the work confronts the audience with a situation, which on the one hand is domestic and familiar, but implausible as it is in an exhibition space.
