HORIZON TAUTOLOGY

"Horizon Tautology" plays with the reproductive, mechanical qualities of the photographic. Producing the same image on different tones of paper and using manual operations such as cuts and superimpositions to intervene in the action of facsimile. The resulting colour and material operate as filters that graphically reveal details and hidden contexts of a particular photograph. These interventions create images that are simultaneously ubiquitous and unique. This work operates as a tautological collage of the image in question by, reframing and obscuring different vantages and contexts.
